Also, uh in case you were not aware Holland is a western region of the Netherlands and though, those outside the Netherlands refer to it as an easier way to say “the Netherlands” it is not necessarily accepted by the Dutch. I’ve had a few Dutch friends from the Gelderland region who Really hate it…
So I have used it in a very cheeky way here – people think they’re the same so they can look the same but be totally different. I hope you don’t mind… I’ve got nothing against those from Holland; it’s just the use of a stereotype that Amsterdam is nicknamed, here in the UK at least, “Europe’s Drug and Sex Capital”.
