Predicted to be born for a period of change and difference, when the gods must stretch their eyes over the world and see the wrong-doers of Yedidya for what they were, Or was born to Cassilado at the same time her brother Coreladid sired Corrino, goddess of the night. Or was so beautiful and brilliant, a strong stallion the colour of fire with a tail that blazed like a solar flare and sheered the darkness that reached to hurt him. Fully grown at birth and more then a struggle for his mother to produce, Or was raring to go and leapt into the sky in time for dawn, racing around the sun, looping his tail about it and then leading it across the sky and burning away the darkness ahead of it so that the moon and sun could never be swallowed by the dark times again.

With this as his main job, Or often found himself racing after the slink foot falls of Corrino as she batted away the darkest patches and lured them away from the moon with her own beaming eyes. He was often jealous of how fearless she seemed against the darkness and how much she taunted and tempted it to follow her and leave the moon alone. In fact, he dared to chase after her so close one day that Corrino had barely led the moon from the sky when the sun was brought to it in an eclipse. In this moment Or tried to mount Corrino but the cat scratched his belly and was able to escape swiftly.

The beings upon Yedidya were in awe of his speed and power and began to worship him and Folab beside one another. Asking him to beg Folab to permit him to stay in the sky longer so that they could keep the darkness away or so that they had more hours to work – they would leave food tributes to him or tie a mare up outside at night for him to couple with, if he so desired. A mighty line of incredibly fast horses were soon produced, the Zelan, faster then any other grazing animal and they were used in the racing sport and treated in reverence. Amongst these animals was a horse so fast it could gallop across Zelan within the course of a day, his name was Viatge and it was no surprise to his father when he escaped and ran free. The herd of this wild son he guarded closely, only permitting worthy beings to catch and tame them for their uses and allowing some individuals to leave Zelan on special trails made by his tail in he air. On the occasion and unworthy human hurt his sons’ Or was violent and would destroy whatever he could of that being’s life – stomping on things to make them collapse and crush the occupants or free their livestock. His violent temper made his worshipers cautious and yet they still loved him for giving them a longer day or fewer troubles.

One dragoness named Svira was of real importance to Or – she was a dedicated priestess, daughter of a clan leader and left in charge of her family during the First Stradan invasion of Nabafornaco. She begged for his aid to protect her homeland at her side and though most of the work was done by Svira and she was incredibly successful in her efforts, the siege of her home was only thwarted when Or appeared himself over the city, rearing and screaming in warning at the invaders. His thanks for helping these dragons were to give Svira a gift… a child that would be just as important in fighting off enemies.

During the troubles with Discord however, Or was the first to reject her advances and inform the others, he believed whole-heartedly that Corrino would join the darkness just like many others. But Or ended up in a terrible battle with the goddess of chaos, was trapped beneath her shinning blood-red claws and about to loose his head, his rescuer came in the form of the blue-black cat goddess of the night. The stallion witnessed the battle between the two cats and used his speed to outrun the god of war that ran at his heels and drag Folab from his high seat to capture the traitor herself. Or was forever grateful to Corrino but she never seemed to care and brushed off his thanks with a flick of her tail. He is sill unfriendly toward her, but he is praised each year with her at the Apocalypse Eclipse* where they rest a whole day with their families and try to get along with one another.

In recent years though Or and the other lesser gods have not been as actively seen about the world… more concerned with searching out the Followers of Discord. In a recent period however Or found Folab missing and was stuck managing the sun alone; fearful he dragged himself across the face of Yedidya in his search causing droughts in the damp north and freezing storms in the burning southern lands. It last here months before Folab returned, having chosen his mate and a new lesser god.

This is the god of the day, a strange and tetchy guy to say the least he is wild in spirit and very excitable but it’s his speed and the way he can charge ahead of the sun, pulling it with his flaming tail and chasing the shadows away. He’s got a lot of links in his personality to many sun deities in mythology.

His horse image is actually based on this handsome animal here

*Apocalypse comes from a Greek word for ‘un-covering’ we always think of it as an end to something because of the words’ use in the Book of Revelations but it was traditional thought of as a new beginning or a time of change – hence the day-long Apocalypse Eclipse is the end of one year and the beginning of a new one. The only time it was ever altered was at the birth of Vardarimba Aluminata when sunlight and moonlight combined to bathe her infant form in a strange creamy haze.
